FAQs

What does 'Family Safe' mean?

Family safe products are considered safe for use both during pregnancy and on infants and children under 12 based on dosage for essential oils and base ingredients. Having said this, we always recommend doing a patch test first. Please note this doesn't take into account any potential allergies.

What does ‘Pregnancy Safe’ mean?

Pregnancy safe products are considered safe for use during pregnancy, but not necessarily for children and infants. This is because pregnant women can still have half of an adult dose (up to 2%)but infants and children under 12 should not be exposed to concentrations higher than 1%.

What does ‘Kid Safe’ mean?

Kid safe products are considered safe for use on infants and children under 12, but are not recommended for use during pregnancy. This does not appear on many of our products because it is an uncommon occurrence. Kid safe products should still be patch tested.

What is a patch test?

A patch test is where you test a product a small patch of skin before you use the product to its full capacity to ensure that no sensitivities occur.

How do I do a patch test?

To conduct a patch test, pick a patch of skin that you consider normal and non sensitive  (i.e. NOT unusually dry, broken, itchy or sore), for example, your forearm or stomach. Apply a small amount of the product to this area. For moisturisers, leave to absorb as normal, for cleansers, scrubs or other wash off formulas, leave for 5-10 minutes (or as per package instructions) and then wash off. If irritation occurs, wash off immediately and discontinue use.

Do you have a ‘Dream Cream’?

We don’t have anything that is specifically designed to ‘cure’ eczema or psoriasis, however, we have had good reports for these conditions about our body butters! Particularly Green Tea and Manuka Honey & Vanilla. You could combine these with the use of a lotion to pack a bigger punch. Top tip: apply body lotion immediately after bathing while skin is still damp, then before bed or once the lotion has absorbed, top up trouble areas with body butter.Â
